Biography
Rohit Bisht received his B.Pharm and M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics) degree from India. He worked as a research intern at Department of Ocular Pharmacology, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (A.I.I.M.S), New Delhi, India. At AIIMS, he developed biodegradable intracorneal implants for fungal eye infections. After completing his M.Pharm, he worked as an assistant professor at different pharmacy institutions in India. He completed his PhD in 2017 from Buchanan Ocular Therapeutic Unit, Department of Ophthalmology, University of Auckland, New Zealand. He was awarded with University of Auckland International Doctoral Scholarship and Buchanan Ocular Therapeutic Unit Doctoral Scholarship. His research was focused on the development of nanoparticle-loaded light-responsive injectable implants for intravitrial peptide delivery. He was invited to learn ocular microdialysis techniques at University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kansas City, USA. He also developed an ex-vivo eye model for ocular drug disposition studies using microdialysis technique. For the first time, he has developed a stability indicating HPLC method for Connexin43 mimetic peptide and evaluated his degradation kinetics. For his research work he was awarded with best graduate research award from American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientist (AAPS), USA. During his research work he was awarded with various travel grants. Currently, he is a founder and Director of SciText Communication and Pharmaceuticals which give guidance to the researchers regarding scientific writing and pharmaceutical research. He has published his work in various reputed impact journals, such as Journal of control Release, Molecular Pharmaceutics, Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, Journal of Drug Delivery and Translational research and many more. He has published two book chapters in “Emerging Nanotechnologies for Diagnostics, Drug Delivery and Medical Devicesâ€, Elsevier. He is a reviewer for many journal including Elsevier. His research work was also highlighted in Advance Science News. He is invited by various pharmacy institutions as a speaker on topics related to pharmaceutical research, drug delivery and scientific writing. His research interest includes polymer modification, ex-vivo modelling, nanotechnology, implants, ocular drug delivery and peptide therapeutics.
